Dreamscapes, Vol. 1: Almost Lover
A benefit to having vivid dreams that you can remember? A world of your own, a world you help build, and a world you want to share with the world. My Dreamscapes series occurs in a whole world of its own, one that I shall flesh out over the next few tens of stories occurring at different parts of the world. For now, welcome to the first of many.
Under the stars, in outer space, they kissed. As they came out from there back to their table, the place may as well have been empty. For it was all he had imagined it to be and more. His nervousness reduced, he found he could eat once more.
Ash had had dreams before but none that felt so vivid, so vibrant, and so… real. It felt as if he had gotten up from a reverie, one which felt too real to simply be a fiction of imagination. A vision perhaps, he mused. Whatever it was, he was not happy about his decision to wake up. There was something compelling about how the dream had gone and he… almost felt he could sense her.
For months on now, Ash had been (rather obviously, some would add) enamored by his best friend Gaia. What had started off as a harmless flirty series of conversations had soon evolved into one of the most intimate friendships he had ever had had in his life. And yet.
Attraction has its way of messing around with life circumstances; some things just could not let them be together. His under-developed sense for judging human nuance didn’t help either. Restrictions are rarely barriers for unrequited pining, however, as the…
